Job summary Due to ongoing Community Transformation, a new post has been created for aComplex Emotional Needs Link Worker. The Enfield Personality Disorder Pathway sits within the Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) arm of the Enfield Community Integrated Psychological Pathways alongside the Complex PTSD Pathway. The Personality Disorder Pathway offers evidence-based treatment for patients with Cluster B and Cluster A Paranoid Personality Disorder. The post holder is required to have direct experience of delivering Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and/or Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT) and awareness of Structured Clinical Management (SCM) and working within acute in-patient environments. The post holder will also have a high level of training and experience in developing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship. This role requires a very high degree of mental effort and highly developed communication skills, empathy and sensitivity to the patient. It also requires a well-developed ability to maintain boundaries. The post holder will contribute to providing senior clinical oversight in the Personality Disorder Pathway in support of the Enfield Personality Disorder Pathway Lead. Main duties of the job The role will require the post holder to: Assist in and determine the point of discharge / transfer of the service users across the full range of care settings by formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a patient's mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the patient's problems, and employ methods based upon evidence of efficacy, in particular the MBT, DBT, SCM and systemic models developed within the specialist service for the treatment of Personality Disorder. Provide leadership to the MDT in both inpatient and community settings to support them in the delivery of high quality, outcome focussed service. Provide advice, consultation and training to staff working with individuals with a Personality Disorder diagnosis across a range of agencies and settings, where appropriate. Provide formal and informal supervision to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care within high-risk therapeutic settings. Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning assessment, formulation and treatment plans for patients and to monitor progress together with the MDT.
