Founded in July 2022, Worlds Better is a sustainability consultancy dedicated to helping the events industry drive real change. Our mission is to support corporate event teams and agencies in reducing the negative impact of live events and delivering more responsible, considered projects. With significant growth and exciting projects lined up for 2025, we are looking for a passionate Event Sustainability Consultant to join our team.
About you
We are looking for someone with experience in sustainability consultancy for the live events industry. You’ll bring experience in sustainability/ESG, with a background in:
* Sustainability strategies – guiding businesses in developing and implementing impactful sustainability initiatives
* Carbon accounting & reporting (for businesses and events) – and experience working with frameworks like SBTi, SECR, CSRD, and PPN
* Sustainability communications & training – delivering engaging workshops and internal/external communications
* Certifications & standards – familiarity with B Corp, ISO 14001, and ISO 20121
You’ll also be:
* A proactive project manager, comfortable managing budgets, timelines, and deliverables
* An excellent communicator, adept at liaising with clients and stakeholders at all levels
* A detail-oriented problem solver, with a structured and organised approach to work
Responsibilities
* You will be supporting and leading projects autonomously, varying in size and deliverables, from start to finish including setting and driving timelines, leading project meetings, taking/writing up meeting notes, updating status reports and project plans.
* You will account manage projects ensuring our client deliverables are met by coordinating our team (including freelancers and suppliers) and our clients while keeping projects on track.
* You will develop carbon emissions reports using data from carbon calculations for company emissions and event projects and understand/comply with sustainability reporting initiatives (including SBTi, SECR, CSRD and PPN).
* You will use your experience to draft sustainability related documentation such as sustainability management plans, sustainability policies, sustainability strategies, impact reports, attendee communications, sustainability statistics/stories and more.
* You will have experience or qualifications in B Corp, ISO 14001, ISO 20121 and work with our clients to help them achieve certification.
* You will be developing and delivering (virtual or face to face) event sustainability training programmes.
* You will use your advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word to develop company and client documentation.
* You will work with the founder to develop a robust, thoughtful, inclusive and innovative company and support our company’s own sustainability commitments, which you can find on our website.
Applicants must be UK based - ideally in South England. We’re looking for Event Sustainability Consultant for an initial 6-month contract. This is a hybrid role, with flexible hours but with a view to work from our Brighton office minimum 2 days a week.
Salary is £40,000 pa. Benefits include 33 days of annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays as well as private health care, training budget, and pension contribution minimum match 3% but will go up to 5%.
