At KLA we design, develop, and manufacture high-tech capital equipment for the global semiconductor industry. In this role you’ll be working in our high performing manufacturing team to build and assemble our complex processing equipment.
Based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Newport, South Wales this role presents the opportunity to work with innovative technology and learn precision automated manufacturing processes!
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Operating fixturing/tooling or hand-held electronic equipment (Voltmeter, Caliper, Oscilloscope) to test cable assembly or electronic assembly boxes.
* Manual soldering small electronic components (using a microscope) onto Printed Circuit Boards (resistors, capacitors, dies).
* Visual inspection using a microscope (20x magnification) for dies, resistors, capacitors to ensure parts meet specifications.
* Implement systematical problem-solving approach to find root cause and make correction plan for equipment/material/process issues.
* Work with Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve issues with released products.
* Handling or attaching small components (die, capacitors, resistors) using tweezers and in house build fixture.
* Performing visual inspection IQC (incoming quality inspection)/OQC (outgoing quality inspection) on raw parts (flex, PCBA, silicon substrate).
* Handling dilute chemical solutions (IPA, DI water, Acetone, epoxy) to clea...
