The Machining Category Central Manufacturing Engineering team is accountable for the delivery of Manufacturing Engineering activities across a range of suppliers and commodities and driving business critical activities. Covering all elements of the manufacturing product life cycle, from Technology development, new product introduction through to mature component cost reduction and improvement programmes, you will have the opportunity to work with and influence world class external suppliers and teams. What you will be doing: In this role y ou will operate, maintain, and optimise advanced machining equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, in addition you will: In this exciting role, you will: Develop and govern the technology programs within the Machining category: Provide support to ensure the success of existing and future technology programs within Machining category. Act as a key point of contact for internal category teams, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges as they arise. Establish the framework and governance for the “C2 Acquire Technology” process across the Category. Act as the C2 process specialist – training and knowledge sharing. Govern all New technology development programs. Future Technology Programs. Product Cost Technology programs: work with the category “product cost lead” to identify new technology cost drivers. Establish and manage the associated TRL programs. Establish the Commodity Road maps: Develop the Technology Road mapping activity for each of the commodities within the Machining Category. Work with MECL, Process owners & Technology leads to develop the commodity road maps. Establish links between Commodity and Process roadmaps. Establish the framework and governance of the road mapping activities. Technology Hoppers / Speed dating. Develop and maintain the external Technology networks (AxRCs / Technology partners etc). Strategy: Supporting, identifying and developing opportunities to deliver key Technology targets through existing strategies, e.g. Zero Defects quality programme, and support / development of new opportunities. Cost: Owning the pipeline of high value technology cost reduction projects through from TRL transitioning through into the SMTs. For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has: An engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role. Supply chain experience is preferable ideally with experience of industrialisation and cost reduction programmes. Strong analytical skills and a proven record of using tools and techniques associated with Industrialisation & cost reduction. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences. You will be an enthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work and a keen interest in learning and sharing knowledge. Good team working skills and ability to influence are essential.
