Job description:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams. The PM will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. The PM will play several different roles in actual practice:
Enterprise-level Role
At an enterprise level, role includes:
* Leading and managing large, complex enterprise-level projects.
* The projects may consist of multiple teams and require integration with other activities outside the scope of the teams.
Team-level Role
At a team level, role includes:
* Playing a consultative role to put in place the appropriate people, process, and tools, to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
* Coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team.
Project Role
At a project level, role includes:
* Using good judgment and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort.
* Achieve the project goals within designated project constraints.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Managing multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity.
* Project Initiation including Project Stand-up Calls with clients and Core technical teams.
* Project Coordination using Prince 2 Agile Scrum Methodology including regular client and technical team scrum calls, sprint planning and review calls.
* Advise key stakeholders on development and integration plans.
* Change management – preparation of change notes including change note justification and commercial scoping.
* Project Planning and Management – Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organise and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
* Team building – promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team. Mentor and nurture the project delivery team members in the project.
* Project Status Reporting and Financial Management – in line with Core’s PMO processes; deliver weekly project updates and monthly governance reports to project stakeholders; reporting exceptions to practice project boards. Record the finances of the project provided accruals and project forecast data.
* Project administration using PSA and Devops tools including:
o Project planning and deliverable tracking.
o Project backlog and release management.
o Project risk & issue management.
o Internal and external resource sourcing and coordination.
o Coordination of Pilot and UAT project activities.
o Project governance – budget & escalation management.
o Timesheet approvals.
o Budget and financial control.
Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
* Minimum 3 years' experience managing complex software delivery programs
* Experience of budget management
* Proven decision-making ability
* Ability to manage and develop people effectively
* Ability to manage budget and control project financials effectively
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience of liaising with senior management on project escalations
* Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd parties
* Outstanding administration and process management skills
* Ability to produce high quality and professional presentations to stakeholders
* Commercial awareness
* Highly motivated with attention to detail and a desire to continually improve.
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and cross-functional environment
* Able to work both on own initiative, as part of a team whilst also directing a team
* Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations
Desirable:
* PRINCE2 Practitioner and Agile qualifications.
* Proven track record of working with and implementing MS Dynamics & SharePoint Solutions.
* Proven track record of working with business analyst and full stack developers.
* Awareness of market trends in the IT industry.
* Experienced in managing deliveries through Azure DevOps.
