Mig/Tig Welder
Location: Daventry
Schedule: Full time (Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:15pm & Friday 7am - 1pm)
Salary: £38,610 ( £16.50ph)
Our Daventry based client has over 50 years of manufacturing experience in fabricated metal products. They are looking for experienced MIG / TIG welders to join them on a permanent basis, providing to a variety of industries including automotive, agriculture, bus, yellow truck, and general engineering businesses. The production welder positions will be working on a variety of components and from engineering drawings, with the majority of the welding on mild steel.
Key Duties:
* Set, operate, and maintain the MIG and TIG welding machines and related tools and equipment.
* MIG welding with mild steel primarily.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to lay out a welding project.
* Test and inspect welded surfaces to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
* Use measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to inspect the parts.
* Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.
* Perform general fabrication duties, such as cutting and smoothing metal components using plasma cutters and portable grinders, and boring holes through metal workpieces using a drill press.
* Meet production deadlines.
* Report any faults found to the Production Supervisors.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety legislation at all times.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experienced MIG / TIG Welder.
* Ability to work from engineering drawings and specifications.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Confident in working with stainless and mild steel.
