We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Team Manager to lead and develop a maintenance team based in the Colne South Catchment out of Maple Lodge STW.
As the successful candidate, your role will be to drive their performance and improve overall engagement, whilst managing in line with HR policies and processes. Increasing customer service and operational performance within strict quality targets is vital to the success of this role and will be achieved in line with a strong health and safety focus.
Day-to-day activities will include managing the team of mechanical, electrical and ICA Technicians to carry out planned and reactive maintenance, provide technical support, work with the Technical Coordinator to ensure asset availability and drive a positive health and safety culture to ensure efficient, continued and safe operation of the sites within the catchment.
What you’ll be doing as the Maintenance Team Manager:
* Reporting to and working alongside the Site Manager you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Mechanical, Electrical and ICA teams.
* Maintaining site compliance by proactively managing plant availability and ensuring plant breakdowns are addressed quickly and efficiently.
* Working with the site team to ensure timely repair to plant/equipment to reduce additional costs as well as exploring alternative options for more cost-effective solutions.
* Responsible for developing the team to improve their health and safety awareness.
* Be a health and safety role model as well as drive health and safety culture on site through auditing and the escalation process.
What you should bring to the role:
* Previous experience in a technical role from within an industrial/utility environment.
* Previous experience managing a technical team would be desirable with a strong focus on continuous improvement, ideally with field-based members.
* Proven ability to take the lead and achieve results in a difficult environment.
* Strong focus on and good working knowledge of health and safety.
* Experience managing an operational budget with a structured and proactive approach.
* You will need to be competent in using IT equipment/systems and be able to interpret complex Excel spreadsheets.
* Due to the nature of this role, a full valid driving licence is needed.
