At Central Bedfordshire’s Day Services for Older People every day is different, every person has their own unique story. You will help us achieve our goals by supporting our customers to lead fulfilling lives both in the centre and out in the community. Within this role there will be a requirement to undertake personal care with customers.
Your main tasks will be to Deputise for the Day Service Manger if they are unavailable. You will be responsible for the day to running of the service, ensuring the care and support staff promote the independence and wellbeing of the vulnerable individuals. Along with the Day Service Manager, you will ensure all customers are assessed for their care and have person centred plans of care and support put in place when they join the service. You will ensure the service runs in line with regulatory authorities such as CQC, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Environmental Health. You will ensure that customers have as much choice and control in their lives as possible. This role will be consist of working across two services.
To apply for this role, you would need to hold an NVQ / QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and be prepared to work towards a higher-level qualification. You will have significant experience and knowledge of the care needs of vulnerable older people living with difficulties such as physical disability / frailty and or Dementia. You will be able to demonstrate your professional leadership and management skills and have experience of line managing a team of support staff. You will become part of a wider team of people, all working towards the same goal – to provide an excellent service to the people in our care.
