Court of Protection Lawyer - Exeter
Fantastic opportunity for a Court of Protection Lawyer seeking their next career move at a multi office practice with an outstanding reputation in the Devon market.
The successful Court of Protection Lawyer will be representing attorneys, deputies, and trustees in managing clients' affairs. You can expect to collaborate with the Court of Protection and Office of the Public Guardian on behalf of both existing and new clients. Your client base will be a varied range of individuals, including children and adults with complex needs, older individuals in care homes or considering the transition, trustees and beneficiaries of personal injury trusts, as well as lay and professional attorneys and deputies.
You will be expected to represent vulnerable clients in managing their affairs whenever possible and appropriate, including visiting clients and families as necessary. You'll coordinate with various parties such as family members, care homes, and case managers to ensure suitable support is in place, while also handling clients' day-to-day financial needs, budgeting, and financial planning in collaboration with their advisors.
My client is seeking candidates with over 2 years' PQE in Court of Protection or equivalent experience who are capable of independently managing their own caseload. STEP qualification is desired but not essential.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential together with strong drafting skills.
While experience in additional areas such as deprivation of liberty and financial abuse investigations is beneficial, it's not mandatory.
