About the role
It is an exciting time here at Churchill Retirement Living, and we are recruiting for an HR apprentice to support the HR team in our Head Office based in Ringwood.
Reporting into the Head of Human Resources, you will support the HR team across the entire employee lifecycle for 700 colleagues. During the apprenticeship, you will spend time in our Recruitment, HR, and Learning and Development teams to gain a rounded experience of a busy and professional HR team.
Your role will be office-based and will include a variety of duties where you will learn to assist activities that support the attraction, wellbeing, and development of our colleagues.
Duties will include:
* Supporting the recruitment team with screening CVs, advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and arranging interviews.
* Responding to queries in the HR mailboxes and ensuring that all colleagues receive timely responses to their queries.
* Producing documentation e.g., new starter offers and contracts, promotions, employee changes, and references.
* Ensuring our HR system (PeopleHR) is kept up to date with any employee updates.
* Assisting with the starter and leaver processes.
* Supporting the learning & development team with organising training.
* Providing a high level of customer service to all of our colleagues.
An apprenticeship with Churchill Retirement Living also offers a professional, friendly, and family values working environment where vital ‘soft’ skills such as report writing, communication, teamwork, and effective and efficient working practices will be developed.
The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5.30 pm, and Fridays are 9 am to 5 pm.
What Qualification do I get?
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will gain the following qualifications:
* HR support Level 3 apprenticeship, which provides associate membership to the Chartered Institute of Professional Development.
What opportunities are there for progression?
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will have a broad base of knowledge and experience that will set you up for your future career in HR. Natural progression is to an HR administrator, HR advisor, then HR Business Partner, or you may choose to pursue a role in Recruitment or Learning and Development.
About you
This is a busy and varied support role. To be successful, you will need:
* A keen interest in HR and people-related matters.
* Previous work experience, ideally in a role that requires interaction with customers or people.
* Excellent computer and keyboard skills, particularly relating to Microsoft applications.
* Good interpersonal and administrative skills.
* Ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues.
* Proactive approach to work.
* Accurate & Methodical.
* Confidential & Discreet.
* A willingness to learn and develop.
Upon joining the programme, you will need the following qualifications:
* GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4/5) – Essential.
* GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4/5) – Essential.
