Building Infrastructure Engineer – 12-month FTC

Main purpose of the job:
The Buildings & Infrastructure Engineer will support the Manufacturing Management Team with the specification and delivery of buildings and facilities projects.
Main missions and results:
1. Design, specify and manage to completion Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services projects using specialized contractors.
2. Manage Health & Safety at work, acting as the client for CDM related projects, and manage Principal Contractor and Principal Designer appointments.
3. Review Designers Risk Assessments.
4. Work with the facility and equipment teams to provide Building Services expertise on multi-discipline projects in support of the construction and modification of manufacturing facilities.
5. Undertake desktop studies and site investigations for prospective projects, utilizing in-house or external specialists where appropriate to enable the evaluation of alternative economic solutions and support project justification.
6. Manage Contractors in strict accordance with the IAC Control of Contractors procedures.
7. Attend programme meetings at all levels, representing the Building Infrastructure team and present where appropriate.
8. Ensure all projects have appropriate timing plans and report status through regular progress reviews.
9. Support the Layout Team with the development of lean efficient solutions.
10. Manage physical installation builds at all UK sites, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
11. Design, specify and manage to completion extraction, ventilation, fire protection and sprinkler system installations and other requirements defined by the business insurers.
12. Include “Life Cycle Thinking” considerations and Sustainability Assessment in all designs and specifications.
13. Support Industrial Footprint Planning and other strategic projects within the business.
Preferred skills and experience:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in:
1. Project Delivery.
2. RFQ Preparation / Facility Tendering.
3. CDM / Health & Safety Management.
4. Contractor Management.
5. Programme / Cost Management.
6. AutoCAD.
