SEMH/SEN Tutor

Duration: Full time, ongoing
Salary: £95 – £115 per day
The School/Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities? I am working with a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) that is seeking passionate and resilient SEN and SEMH tutors and mentors to join their team. This fantastic Specialist Centre is for students aged between 11-16 who are unable to attend their mainstream provision because of medical reasons. The school strives to provide the best quality teaching and learning with an inclusive and personalised curriculum. This is a full-time post and will run until the end of the academic year.

The candidate for this SEN and SEMH tutor role will be experienced in supporting children with a range of different academic attainment levels. It is essential that these students have a PRU Teaching Assistant to act as a positive role model as well as good academic knowledge to provide lesson support. This will require patience, commitment, and the ability to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.
The team within the school is very supportive and will help you along the way. The staff in the school aim to give the best possible educational experience for their students. This job opportunity is very fulfilling for people who have SEN and SEMH teaching assistant experience.

Requirements:
* SEN and SEMH experience
* PECS and Makaton training/experience
* ASD, SEMH, Non-verbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment needs experience
* Level 1 safeguarding certificate
* Recent school-based references
* Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
* Full DBS – on the update service
