The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. Main duties of the job
Responsibilities:
* Greet patients warmly and assist them with queries.
* Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries efficiently.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with data protection regulations.
* Process insurance information and verify patient eligibility for services.
* Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers, relaying messages as necessary.
* Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, emails, scanning, and prescriptions.
* Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming for patients.
About us
We are a busy GP practice with 3 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA, practice manager, deputy manager, and 9 reception staff.
We use TPP system1 for our clinical system.
We are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our team, working 20-25 hours per week, hours to be agreed at interview.
Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and to provide general support to the team. Duties can include but are not limited to greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy), and assisting patients as required. Taking incoming calls and accurate message taking. Scanning, filing, and retrieving paperwork. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines. Patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Able to work under pressure and handle conflicting demands efficiently in a professional manner.
* Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the practice.
* Experience of working within an administrative environment.
* Experience in using own initiative.
* Experience of managing own workload.
* Experience of data inputting.
* Knowledge of IT and clinical software.
* Experience of working within a General Practice/Hospital environment.
