Purpose of the role You’ll be a key part of the HR team, providing day-to-day operational HR support, as well as advice and guidance across the company. In addition, you’ll get to support the successful delivery of HR projects and initiatives. What we would like you to bring to the role….key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities Experience Previous experience in an HR Advisor role in a fast-paced and dynamic environment including advising colleagues and/or managers on people queries and managing employee relations casework Successfully delivered HR projects/initiatives which improved the overall people experience or contributed to the efficiency of the HR service Generating and using HR data to extract insights and spot trends and opportunities Used HR systems frequently within their previous role/s Knowledge Good knowledge of key employment legislation IT literacy including good standard of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Skills & personal qualities A proactive person with a growth mindset, who is always thinking of ways to ‘do things better’ An excellent multi-tasker with the ability to demonstrate a composed attitude during challenging situations Has a flexible approach to work and is comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities A desire to provide a first-rate HR service to colleagues Strong relationship management skills, making and maintaining positive relationships with a range of people; confident to provide positive challenge when needed Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across several departments and services Able to proactively lead on HR initiatives and projects, engaging and communicating with colleagues to re-invigorate existing initiatives and launch new ones Comfortable with ambiguous situations and an ability to analyse scenarios from a diversity of perspectives Ability to exercise discretion and always maintain confidentiality Highly organised and with an excellent attention to detail and able to communicate complex information in a format that is easy to understand A team player with the ability to self-motivate and work on own initiative A passion for TV and content What you will get to work on….key outputs and responsibilities of the role Provide information, advice and guidance to colleagues and managers on general HR related queries Advise and support managers on a range of people issues to enable them to maintain high levels of engagement and a positive working environment and resolve matters informally where appropriate. This may include performance conversations, sickness absence and return to work support, contractual and policy queries Manage formal casework from investigation through to resolution and support HR Business Partner and HR Manager on more complex personal casework and restructures, including taking notes in meetings Manage the family leave process including supporting colleagues and their managers with their return to work Manage the flexible working process including conducting meetings Lead the probation process supporting managers on conversations where needed and ensuring the relevant paperwork is issued in a timely manner Responsible for the exit interview processes including collating and interpreting data and one to one follow up where needed Support managers with resource planning including prepping approval paperwork and reviewing and writing job descriptions Liaise with managers accordingly to process the operational tasks for secondments/attachments and any upcoming fixed term contracts Prepare bespoke paperwork/letters as required for personal cases, maternity, flexible working, secondments etc Support HR and Reward Co-ordinator where needed to deliver comprehensive and professional administrative and day-to-day operational support to the HR team, ensuring the smooth running of the HR and payroll functions within UKTV including o producing contracts and HR paperwork with a high degree of accuracy and within agreed timeframes for colleagues on and off payroll (such as freelancers)o inputting and amending colleague information in the HR system ensuring the system is accurate and up to dateo arranging and hosting the HR induction for new colleagueso generating reports periodically for standard HR metrics Support on and deliver initiatives which support our strategic objectives and positively contribute to colleague engagement and well-being. Including o leading on well-being and mental health awareness initiatives e.g. providing support to Mental Health First Aiderso assisting the wider HR team with their projects and initiatives as needed Recommend, organise and book training courses, including liaising with providers and venues, and support with budget management/tracking Support with the review and amendment of policies and processes Support colleagues with the recruitment process as and when required Live, embrace and champion UKTV’s company behaviours About UKTV UKTV has been at the forefront of branded television for over 30 years, entertaining the nation with programmes they love.
