This role is a single seat traineeship within our Private Client Department and will involve work including preparation of wills, powers of attorney, trusts and deal with the administration of executry estates. There will also be limited exposure to elements of Residential Conveyancing that link to the work carried out within the Private Client Department.
As a trainee solicitor, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with clients from the outset, under the guidance of experienced colleagues. As you progress through your traineeship, you’ll begin to take ownership of your own caseload, building your expertise and confidence in the field. This work will be rewarding and will provide a strong foundation for your legal career.
Candidates will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail. The nature of the role requires the ability to demonstrate empathy whilst being professional at all times and retaining the ability to extract key information from clients who can often be in an emotional frame of mind. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a keen interest in Private Client work and who will also be able to develop a strong commercial awareness.

An LLB and Diploma in Legal Practice is a pre-requisite for this post. We will also consider candidates currently completing the Diploma in Legal Practice.
Trainee salaries will be paid in line with the current recommended rates set by the Law Society of Scotland.
