A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children who face learning and behavioural challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members. A passion for education and supporting pupils with diverse needs. Relevant qualifications in education or SEN. Flexibility and adaptability in working with students of varying abilities and needs. Role Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop life skills. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs). Adapt learning materials and teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of students with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, and other conditions. Support students with personal care, social skills development, and managing behaviour. Monitor student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to reports for parents and senior staff. Help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes self-confidence and independence. Assist with break and lunchtime duties, ensuring all pupils are safe and supported.
