Major Equipment Procurement (MEP) work collaboratively with our suppliers around the world, enabling us to provide world leading defence capabilities for our home nations and their allies. We manage commercial and business relationships with both UK and overseas companies, providing subsystems, systems, studies and customer support - this for us is "Major Equipment". Our current 165 suppliers are located all over the world and are typically the design authority for the articles procured. Our supplier subcontracts cover the entire life cycle (concept & assessment, development, production, in-service support and disposal) of missiles and missile systems under the responsibility of MBDA UK; this provides us with an excellent transversal view and offers the MEP team varied opportunities and role progression. It’s a fast-paced and dynamic department to work in where no two days are the same. The MEP role is unique and exciting, requiring a combination of commercial expertise and partner management skills to lead business relationships with strategic worldwide suppliers, across a wide range of initiatives to drive overall supplier performance. Key aspects of the role include: Subcontract Management (including drafting, amending, negotiating and managing terms and conditions) in accordance with applicable legislation and company processes – you will have the opportunity to learn this “on the job” Building and nurturing supplier and key stakeholder relationships Leading in the internal Multi-Functional Team responsible for the delivery of a sub-contract (consisting of Technical, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Project Management) Holding the Supplier to account for their performance and resolving any issues / conflicts (hardware, services and documentation) Providing commercial guidance to internal stakeholders Generating and implementing supplier strategies that deliver value for money Risk and opportunity management What we’re looking for from you Currently studying for a degree, preferably in a Business and Management or Engineering discipline Our Business We value new perspectives, collaboration, and diversity.
