Job Summary
Specialist Speech and Language Therapist: South Tyneside and Sunderland NHSFT.
1 x Band 7 temporary 37.5 hour Post. Part-time considered. Childrens Speech and Language Therapy.
This temporary Post will support the Childrens Speech and Language Therapy service transformation work with the ICB. The Post will support working into Family Hubs as well as providing some universal and targeted training into schools and early years settings.
The Post will help signpost families to high quality resources. This Post supports the digital, care closer to home and preventative agendas.
You will be keen to develop your specialist clinical skills and knowledge and be driven to provide evidence-based interventions.
You will be keen to develop your skills in working with the Team around the child to support achieving the best outcomes for children as well as providing direct assessment and therapy.
Our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team covers South Tyneside and Sunderland localities. There are excellent links across the Childrens Therapy staff. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is supported and encouraged and all staff access individual supervision and regular team meetings. Our team has admin and SLT Assistant support.
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of working with children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, and be able to assess, plan and provide intervention and therapy within a range of settings.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way to facilitate the best outcomes for children. You will be well-supported by our dynamic Speech and Language Therapy team.

Person Specification
Essential
* Degree in Speech and Language Pathology / Therapeutics or equivalent.
* Registration with the Health Professionals Council (HCPC).
* Successful completion of a significant number of specialist short courses/self-study/training in the specialist area of work. Evidence of integration of this learning into clinical practice at a highly-specialist level.
Desirable
* Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
