The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and managing the relevant unit(s) supply chain activities with direct line management responsibility for up to 3 teams, which can include customer services/order entry, Warehouse/Goods in, packaging/shipping, and the Production Planning team.
They will be part of the Site Senior Leadership team and are responsible for supervising and managing every stage of the production flow, from purchasing the raw materials to the delivery of the final product to our customers.
With a strong emphasis on visible leadership, accountability, and building a team ethos, this role has a critical impact on the performance of the unit and patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop, align and implement the overall supply chain strategy, working with all identified collaborators to ensure business efficiency.
* Accountable for inspiring and guiding teams to achieve company targets for supply chain metrics.
* Monitor critical metrics and take action to address any current or potential issues.
* Lead the resolution of issues that might affect safety, compliance, output, and business ethics in the responsible sourcing of materials.
* Ensure timely completion of relevant deviation and complaint investigations to identify true root causes and eliminate future recurrences.
* Coach and mentor staff to ensure all critical processes are completed with a sense of urgency in accordance with Baxter internal processes.
* Set objectives for and appraise the performance of team members using the ACE check-in process.
* Proactively look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement, influence decisions, and deliver results whilst ensuring compliance with regulations and quality procedures.
* Identify and lead key projects to improve supply chain performance operationally and financially.
* Work closely with the Unit Manager and Baxter Commercial organization in supporting communication to external customers, Operations, Engineering, Quality, procurement, and cross-functional compounding teams to ensure agreement and execution of agreed critical success factors in the Unit.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Logistics Management.
* Previous working experience as a Supply Chain Manager, preferably within a GMP regulated and manufacturing industry.
* Hands-on experience with supply chain management software.
* Experience in leading and developing teams.
* Excellent verbal and formal communication skills, together with critical reasoning skills.
* Experience in risk assessment and root-cause analysis.
* Ability to lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
* Strong work ethic and flexibility to meet the business needs.
* Able to combine a competitive approach with strong collaboration and flexibility.
* Able to share standard methodology and ideas to make informed decisions and take a proactive approach in leading projects.
* Develop relationships and maintain open communication with other compounding functions.
