Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to engineering specifications. You will use a variety of tools and equipment to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces, ensuring the highest quality of finished products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to read engineering drawings, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components per engineering drawings and specifications.
* Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, grinders, and welders.
* Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine project requirements.
* Select appropriate materials and techniques for fabrication projects.
* Set up and operate fabricating machines, including shears and rolling machines.
* Conduct quality inspections on finished products and make necessary adjustments.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
* Use appropriate safety equipment, including PPE, to uphold health and safety standards.
* Collaborate with engineering and assembly teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Support and mentor junior team members, helping them develop fabrication skills.
Skills & Experience:
To excel as a Fabricator, you should have the following:
* Strong understanding and enthusiasm for manufacturing and engineering.
* Experience working with various welding materials, including steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.
* Proficiency in reading technical drawings and weld symbols.
* Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to work overtime as needed.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to adhering to them.
Desired Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Fabricator in the automotive and/or rail industry.
* Experience working in a shift-based environment.
