To facilitate the continuing healthcare team to identify the patients receiving CHC funding who meet the criteria for requiring a Deprivation of Liberty authorisation from the Court of Protection. This role will provide dedicated support to the continuing healthcare team for the continued development of patients who require Community DOL authorisation within the NHS continuing healthcare caseload. Responsibilities include presenting all new referrals to the ICB for consideration and preparing the necessary documentation to present before the court. Liaising closely with internal and external professionals to ensure completion of all required evidence within agreed timescales and tracking and working to Court order deadlines is essential. The role involves working to the systems and/or pathways identified when reviews are required and ensuring these are actioned accordingly, as well as supporting families and carers with queries around the process, in conjunction with the case managers. This will involve meeting patients face to face. Managing own DOLs caseload following referral from the case manager and assisting case managers and nurse assessors with the Court of Protection process is required. This post is an exciting opportunity to ensure community DOL authorisations are in place within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire County. The successful candidate will provide increased capacity to the current NHS Continuing Care team to ensure that DOLs authorisations are implemented effectively and timely.
