Hello, we’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. Oh, we’re pretty keen on people too.
24 hours a day, 365 days a year we serve 4.8 million households and business across the heart of the UK. Each cuppa drank and every toilet flushed is only possible because of the 6,500 brilliant team members working across our patch.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.
Which is why we are excited to announce an opportunity to work for Severn Trent as an advisor for the Drinking Water Safety Plan (DWSP), our regulatory reporting system. The role involves working on Water Quality risks from a source to tap view. There is a degree of autonomy needed, and the ability to work independently, as you will be responsible for maintaining and updating regulatory systems as well as managing stakeholders.
A team player, ideally with water quality/treatment experience, who can effectively communicate at all levels to achieve the appropriate level of buy-in is required to deliver in this role. The DWSP advisor will report directly to a Team Lead and will have no direct reports but will be expected to co-ordinate the activities of others including Strategic Leads and Business Leads.
There will be some travelling to sites and meetings so a full UK driving license is required.
LET’S TELL YOU MORE
The key details and accountabilities of this role are:
1. To ensure risks are reflective within the current system. You will need to be comfortable collaborating with multiple other teams within the business to ensure risk assessments are accurate and information is kept up to date, acting as a champion for capturing the risk detail.
2. To manage the team workload, ensuring reporting requirements are met as well as providing timely and appropriate advice, guidance or responses to both internal and external contacts.
3. Proactive engagement to ensure all stakeholders understand the remit of DWSP, how it fits with their area of work and keep individuals informed as to changing risks and action delivery.
4. Confidently able to lead various meetings and ensure governance and sign offs are received for risks to comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
5. To actively lead the management of risk classification and manage risk mitigation activities.
6. To support in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of DWSP systems and processes.
