As a Youth, Family and Community Learning Officer, working on the Pathfinder Project, you will work within a school and community based setting. You will work with identified groups of young people and their parents or caregivers in both an individual and group work setting.
The target group will be vulnerable young people, including care experienced, and those at risk of statutory interventions and their families. Adopting an early intervention approach, the initiative will target critical periods such as transition and school holidays, with a view to reducing statutory interventions.
A whole system approach will be adopted to achieve positive outcomes for the whole family. Measures of success for young people will include improved school attendance, reduction in exclusions, improved attainment and achievement and positive school leaver destinations. Parents and caregivers will be offered support that allows them to address their own identified needs via access to learning opportunities, guidance or sign posting to other relevant services.
We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals who are capable of working in a multi disciplinary context to deliver positive outcomes for young people and their families. You will be capable of working in a range of settings, including school, community and home, to best meet the needs of the individual. You will have the skills to use a range of monitoring and evaluation processes to plan, deliver and review the impact of service provision, providing reports when necessary.
YFCL Officers are employed to design and deliver learning opportunities in a range of settings. These take place during the day, in the evening and at weekends to meet the needs of learners therefore there will be a requirement for working evenings and weekends.
