Job overview
To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services within the context of a clinical governance framework.
To establish good relationships with and work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for the care of patients with Sexual Health and contraception needs, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment for the individual patient group.
To ensure that all activities in the area are carried out within CLCH Directorate policy/National guidelines.
To act as a professional role model, leading and developing clinical practice and to support and deputise for the Team Lead.
To supervise, teach & assess registered and unregistered staff including HCA’s.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NMC Registered Nurse (Adult)
* Recognised contraception/sexual health qualification eg STIF Foundation
* Evidence of recent professional development
* Ability to work under Patient Group Directives (PGDs)
* Recognised mentorship and preceptorship or willingness to undertake.
Desirable criteria
* Relevant BSc or willingness to work towards
* STIF Level 2 Competence
* Letter of Competence in fitting and removing implants
* To hold a non-medical prescriber qualification or be willing to undertake
* FRSH Diploma (DFSRH)
Experience
Essential criteria
* Substantive experience working within a level 3 sexual health service.
* Experience of health promotion and education
* Evidence of working with staff from different professional disciplines
* Able to utilise evidence in practice.
* Be proficient in the testing, treatment and management of patients with sexually transmitted infections (STIs), screening for HIV and other blood borne viruses and delivering PrEP.
* Experience of managing/co-ordinating teamwork.
Desirable criteria
* Mentorship experience
* Experience in gynaecology, HIV care, counselling, outreach or other experience relating to the specialty.
* Evidence of practice development
* Evidence of utilising clinical supervision
* Participation in audit/research

Skills
