ABP needs a dedicated Cost and Contract Manager to join the Procurement & Contract Management team in order to support our ambitious growth by transforming new opportunities into reality.
In this role, the objective is to optimise value and financial performance in the procurement lifecycle. This includes understanding budgets, estimating costs, and managing contractual risks. Additionally, it involves implementing effective contract management methods and processes throughout the contract and framework life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* The role involves spearheading the development and execution of a Cost and Contract Management Centre of Excellence (CCMCoE) for goods and services. The focus is on adopting standard methodologies to optimize contract performance and minimize risks.
* Managing the Contract lifecycle, including but not limited to: draft, modification, execution, amendments, and renewal of Contracts.
* Develop and implement strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate contract-related risks where required in supporting contract managers and the delivery of strategic contracts.
* Develop and provide mentorship to members of the Regional Asset Management and Engineering teams in contract and cost matters.
* Build and maintain a centralised repository of contract-related knowledge, templates, and standard methodology available to all contract managers.
* Support regular contract performance reviews where required and provide recommendations for corrective actions or adjustments.
* Negotiation of legal terms and review of scopes of work with a goal of quality assurance.
* Dissemination of contract documents to the appropriate parties, externally and internally.
* Develop and deliver training programs to improve the contract management abilities of staff/collaborators within the organization, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development in the CCMCoE.
* Lead all aspects of the contract review process, identifying potential risks and opportunities, working with customers to complete contract reviews within a schedule for Commercial Board oversight.
About You:
Experience of leading and interacting with senior internal and external collaborators to successfully deliver large scale and high-risk end to end procurement of goods and services. Experience of working in a complex collaborator environment and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships even when faced with conflicts or challenging environments. Experience in Programme Management with extensive contract, commercial and risk allocation skills. Extensive experience in the administration of different forms of contract including ICC/JCT/FIDIC and NEC contracts various professional services contracts and managing commercial negotiations. Experience of supporting the establishment and management of policies. Good IT skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong cost and contract management experience in practice.
* Experienced and knowledgeable regarding regulated procurement environments.
* Knowledge and experience of working with a regulated utilities provider or for publicly funded bodies or developments.
* Experienced in leading and direct line management of teams, with the capability to influence and direct.
* Ability to strategically influence and negotiate with collaborators on contract and commercial matters.
* The ability to manage a large number of highly diverse contracts.
