Main duties of the job Our specialist role involves supporting wards and MDT's to help manage a range of patients with differing pain conditions including both acute and chronic pain. This role involves a commitment to learning all the aspects of pain management, and a clear understanding of the differences in how we manage acute and chronic pain. A robust competency programme is well established to help new starters fulfil all the knowledge and skills required, while there is an expectation of self directed learning and ultimately independent working. We are constantly working on a vast array of projects to ensure Leeds Teaching Hospitals pain service are at the forefront of pain management, implementing a range of national and local initiatives. We have a well established teaching programme that involves teaching to all members of health professionals in our trust, and in a variety of medias.
