The section services Education Committee and its subcommittees, provides advice and guidance to departments, faculties and colleges within Oxford, and handles certain types of student cases. About the Role Working with colleagues across the collegiate University, you will lead a strategic review of existing assessment policies, propose amendments, and take them through the relevant governance process for appropriate approval. This may include preparing and presenting papers for senior decision-making bodies of the University, including Education Committee and the Taught Degrees and Awards Panel. You will also provide training, guidance and communications to support policy implementation. This role is part of the Assessment Centre for Excellence (ACE) at Oxford, which connects colleagues across the collegiate University, providing support and community for all staff who are involved in summative assessment for taught awards. The centre is not a standalone team but a small number of roles that will bolster and extend existing capabilities, to accelerate the transformation of assessment at Oxford.
This role will sit within the Education Policy Support team, with other ACE roles in the Centre for Teaching and Learning. This role also offers the opportunity for some hybrid working, though you will be expected to be in the office at least 2-3 days a week. About You The post-holder will have an excellent awareness of current issues affecting assessment. You will have excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills in order to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. You will be able to produce clear and accurate papers, and effectively manage your workload. You will have experience of working collaboratively, and a track record of creative problem solving.
