Our client's purpose is to provide customers with high performing products and services throughout the nuclear fuel cycle, thereby fully contributing to the efficient production of low-carbon nuclear energy, cancer-fighting radioisotopes, and innovative industrial applications. They are currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a growing team.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Supplier Management: Assist in the procurement process for nuclear, electrical, and engineering categories, including supplier identification, evaluation, and relationship management.
2. Contract Support: Support contract negotiation and management activities, ensuring terms and conditions, such as NEC 3 & 4, are favourable and compliant.
3. Market Research: Conduct research on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry regulations to support procurement decisions.
4. Purchase Order Processing: Process purchase orders, liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, and resolve any discrepancies.
5. Cost Analysis: Assist in cost analysis and pricing negotiations to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
6. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement process, including export controls.
7. Data Management: Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and pricing data.
8. ERP Experience: Utilise ERP systems, such as SAP, for procurement activities and data management.
9. P2P Experience: Familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and systems.
10. Mini Competitions: Experience with mini competitions within procurement frameworks.
11. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and finance teams, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business objectives.
Preferred Role Requirements
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in procurement, preferably with exposure to the nuclear, electrical, or engineering sectors.
