Hello Education are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils within schools in the local area. The role is to support a range of students across KS1 and KS2 with challenging behaviour.
The Behaviour Support Assistant must be calm, patient and armed with a variety of techniques to manage challenging behaviour. The BSA will provide general support to students with challenging behaviour, enabling them to reach their potential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To establish and promote positive relationships with children and other members of staff, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
2. To assist the class teacher in preparing resources and setting out learning materials and equipment for planned activities.
3. To discuss with the class teacher the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes for each lesson or activity.
4. Supporting children with their learning.
5. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under direction and guidance of the head teacher, SENCO and class teacher.
6. Monitor the pupils' response to the learning activities and modify or adapt the activities to achieve progression towards the intended learning outcomes.
7. Assist in the implementation of their Educational Health Care Plans and monitor their progress.
8. Promote the social and emotional development of children.
9. Work closely with the class teacher to manage children's behaviour and maintain an appropriate working environment, including implementation of the school's behaviour policies.
