Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague specialising in Neurointervention to join an established team of 17 Neuroradiologists at NUH (including five INRs). We are extremely busy regional INR centre providing cover for approx. 4 million population. On an average we perform 280-300 neurointervention cases and around 130-150 MT each year. The INR department is actively involved in various research activities. We are have already concluded our randomised controlled trial (ProFate trial) currently recruiting patient in international multicentre trial (ESCAPE MeVO). There is plan to further expand the Neurointerventional team with a view to develop a 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy (MT) service for hyperacute stroke in 2024. The NUH interventional neuroradiology team undertakes a wide range of diagnostic interventional procedures pertaining to Neurosciences, Spinal and Head & Neck specialties. There is an active academic department headed by two Neuroradiology Professors of the Department of Radiological Sciences. The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is part of the Diagnostics & Clinical Support Division, the largest Directorate within the organisation. Main duties of the job A full range of Neurosciences and Head and Neck emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and the appointee will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under his/her care. Provision with Consultant colleagues of a comprehensive elective and emergency neurointervention service. Provision of reciprocal cover for periods of leave. Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of the department.
