Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Studio Assistant to join our team and growing business. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our business. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous hospitality or retail experience would be advantageous.
Duties
* Greet customers warmly and take their orders efficiently.
* Explain the painting process, offer encouragement, and troubleshoot any issues.
* Prepare and serve beverages and light snacks as per café standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
* Assist with data entry and clerical tasks using our booking system.
* Take a primary role in running parties for children and adult parties such as hen parties, baby showers, etc.
* Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring excellent phone etiquette.
* Support the management team with administrative duties as required, including instructing and supervising junior members of staff.
* Have key holder responsibility to open and close the building securely.
* Cash handling, opening and closing the register each night, and handling payments via our POS system throughout the day.
* Be available for evening functions.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.
Experience
* Previous experience in a café or customer service role is preferred.
* Familiarity with pottery painting is preferred but not essential.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Practical skills along with a willingness to learn new skills are essential.
* Must be flexible regarding shift availability as we are a seasonal business and often have off-site events, in the daytime and in the evening.
* Must have a driving licence and access to a car.
* Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and colleagues alike.
* Must be comfortable working with children and dogs.
