Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to recruit a Clerical Officer/Receptionist/Ward Clerk to join a busy Child Health Team.
This is a busy role, involving a wide variety of tasks including admin duties, dealing with emails and looking after inboxes, audio typing, meeting and greeting patients and relatives on arrival to the hospital, answering telephone enquiries, PAS data entry and scanning documents.
Works as support to all sub-specialty secretarial teams providing general office duties supporting the clinical care of patient.
Office support: Reception/telephone enquiries, collecting and opening post, filing, photocopying, messenger, faxing.
Provides holiday/sickness cover for clerical posts (including ward clerks/outpatient clerks).
Working with a team of nursing and support staff from all specialties within the hospital Transcription of clinical and non-clinical documents
PAS data input for admissions/transfers/discharges/outpatient clinic and PAS case note manager.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. To provide an efficient reception and clerical support service to visitors, patients and staff attending The Northumbria including ward clerk cover for the SCBU.
To provide cover for other band 2 clerical jobs as required across the Business Unit.
To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.
To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto the Patient Administration System.
To assist in the general efficient running or sub-specialty offices including typing/G2 transcription, filing, retrieval and storage of patient records, handling post and dealing with telephone enquiries.
To provide support to admin manager re PAS reports and other delegated duties.
