As Business Development Executive you will help drive and provide support across all elements of Business Development undertaking responsibilities such as identifying and developing initial discovery for new client opportunities for the agency, setting meetings and helping manage the UK agency sales pipeline. Alongside this you will be need to help drive the preparation of marketing documents and new business documents (e.g., CRM database, case studies, credential documents, social media capture and content of GPJ work and agency news), creating basic brand marketing materials to assist the Business Development department as needed, raising POs, project related company and new business research as required, including competitor searches. Key Responsibilities Operational Delivery NEW BUSINESS: Identifying new business opportunities that would fit GPJ values, capabilities and commercial goals, including new markets. Follow strategies and plans to successfully reach new business opportunities (via email, Linkedin, phone calls). Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends. Prepare presentation materials for meetings and pitches. Assist Business Development Director with internal communications to department heads on new business opportunities and requests. Support the project / pitch lead with the pitch process, including contributing towards the GPJ agency elements of the brief. Carry out research for new opportunities for GPJ for new client approach across sectors Carry out competitor analysis and look for networking opportunities. Assist Business Development Director on pitch work for the agency. Maintain an up to date library of all case studies and credentials for GPJ. Update CRM system with details of pipeline. MARKETING: Assist the Marketing Manager to prepare quality written documents, such as case studies, marketing materials. Keep all relevant parties updated of project status and issues Assist with producing marketing campaigns and keep calendars of activities up to date. Work with Marketing Manager on updating company website and assist with social media content and output. Partner with the Account Management team and relevant project leaders to provide transparency on details needed for promoting our work externally in case studies across all platforms, social media and written case studies. GENERAL: Project manage internal and external requirements within timelines and budgets for any marketing activities and new business opportunities. Keep GPJ branded assets up to date and make sure all GPJ UK teams are aware of updates. Organise team travel for events and assist with budgets for any spend. Creative Attend key meetings and provide input related to marketing and new business needs and requirements Talent Management Understand and be able to communicate knowledge of the skill sets and abilities across the GPJ as an agency externally and internally Finance Demonstrate an understanding of various financial software Create and distribute POs, obtaining relevant approvals as and if needed Understand and effectively support the budget management and invoicing processes About you You’re adaptable and open to unexpected requests and ways of working (priorities and requirements can frequently change in an agency) You’re always willing to help other people within the project, across depts You demonstrate a calm and positive attitude You’re curious and eager to learn about the industry, clients’ business, products and solutions etc. You’re solutions focused/ creative problem solver – presenting solutions to roadblocks in order to move forward You are persistent and patient – persistence to follow up with stakeholders and clients but demonstrating empathy in understanding agency and client partners’ workload. You’re decisive with the ability to make several decisions at the same time, and at pace You have a true passion for live events, and an enthusiasm to learn about integrated production, in depth and breadth Your background, skills and experience A degree in a relevant discipline such as marketing or business is an advantage Relevant work experience - two years minimum of working in Business Development in an agency. Experience and knowledge of using Google Workspace An effective communicator who is honest, clear and constructive with your communications Empathetic, adaptable and demonstrates good organisational skills Demonstrates the ability to manage own workload Demonstrates the ability to work to deadlines, and flag any concerns with meeting deadlines ahead of time Understanding of the marketplace GPJ operates in.
