What you'll do As the Food Safety Manager at Sainsbury's, you will play a pivotal role in driving food safety compliance across all aspects of the group's retail business, including Sainsbury's and Argos. Serving as the Subject Matter Expert and Food Safety Policy owner, you will collaborate cross-functionally within the organisation and externally to identify areas of risk, drive strategic improvements, and ensure compliance with legal requirements to minimise harm to customers and colleagues. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all elements of the corporate HACCP, Food Safety Policy, and Procedures, managing external relationships on retail food safety, supporting with serious food incidents, and ensuring that safety-related projects and 3rd party agreements align with food safety standards. Additionally, you will lead efforts to provide food safety training, manage food safety complaints, analyse data, drive strategic improvements, and collaborate with various teams to ensure end-to-end food safety management. Who you are As the Food Safety Manager, you are a highly skilled and experienced professional with a deep understanding of retail food safety, legislation, and industry practises. Your extensive industry knowledge and qualifications in food safety and health & safety enable you to drive strategic improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimise risks related to food safety across all retail locations. With strong organisational and influencing skills, you collaborate cross-functionally at all levels of the business to implement effective food safety processes and provide proactive support for various corporate projects and initiatives, ultimately contributing to enhanced compliance and customer safety.
