We’re looking for an Intake Quality Controller to join our team in Spalding, UK.
Reporting to the Ripening Manager, the Intake QC (Avocado) is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of fruit and stock upon arrival, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. They will work closely with the Stock Controller and other internal teams to ensure department KPI’s are met in full. The Product Manager (Avocado) is required to work independently across a number of sites local to the Spalding area and must have the ability to travel between sites.
Tasks include:
1. Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, assessing quality, quantity, and adherence to specifications using standardised tools.
2. Accurately record findings, generate reports, and escalate critical issues as needed.
3. Verify grower adherence of incoming stock.
4. Collect residue samples.
5. Update stocks on the computer system Prophet.
6. Maintain records.
7. Visits to offsite stores will be required.
8. Intake other products such as Mango as required.
9. Adhere to Health & Safety and Food hygiene regulations.
Requirements:
1. Prior experience in quality testing fruit is highly advantageous.
2. Background in quality testing products is essential.
3. Good understanding and utilisation of the English language (verbal and written).
4. Able to work in Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Must be able to work from own initiative and solve problems.
6. Must be motivated and reliable.
7. Good organisational skills.
8. Must be able to travel between sites within the local Spalding area; a driver's licence is essential.
