Trinity Business Support are currently working in partnership with a client based near Halifax in their search for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
Due to continued business growth, our client is now looking to add this role to their ever-increasing team. Our client is a market leader in the PVC compound industry, supplying clients worldwide.
Primary Role:
As part of the Senior Management Team, the EHS Manager will support employees across the site in promoting a positive culture through strong leadership and high levels of engagement and best practices. With a range of niche products and processes across the site, the EHS Manager has a direct hands-on approach that is confident delivering training and implementing new and innovative ideas.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
1. Ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace by conducting regular audits and inspections to make sure the highest standards are consistently maintained.
2. Lead training with new and existing members of staff whilst identifying and assisting in any staff development opportunities.
3. Use continuous improvement techniques to improve and sustain the health, safety & environmental performance and management system.
4. Ensure incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and corrective action is undertaken.
5. Assist and support in the creation, implementation and review of Risk Assessments, safe working procedures and method statements.
6. Delivery of the company Health and Safety strategy and initiatives for the site.
7. Keep up to date and informed of all legislation including any changes.
8. Review all existing company Health & Safety documentation and update accordingly in line with our statutory obligations including CDM Regulations.
9. Ensure that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals.
10. Visit each Project site and conduct regular health and safety inspection/audits and prepare detailed H&S audit reports.
11. Review of all RAMS and COSHH assessments and update where necessary.
12. Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
13. Coordinate and lead all H&S Training.
14. Assist Pre-Construction Team with Health & Safety Questionnaires.
15. To ensure that Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to including the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company.
The EHS Manager will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
1. Demonstrable experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
2. Proven experience in driving changes and improvements.
3. Experience managing a site within HSE.
4. Ability to influence at all levels of organisation.
5. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
Working Hours & Pay:
Monday to Thursday - 08.00 - 17.00
Friday - 08.30 - 14.30
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum
