We are looking for an HR Officer to join a thriving school and play a key role in managing HR functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting staff across all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the school’s HR operations while making a positive impact on the wider education community.

As an HR Officer, you will:
* Support recruitment and onboarding, ensuring a smooth hiring process for teachers, support staff, and senior leadership.
* Manage HR administration, including contract preparation, payroll data, and maintaining personnel records.
* Ensure compliance with safer recruitment policies, safeguarding regulations, and employment law within the education sector.
* Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures to school staff and leadership teams.
* Handle employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
* Work closely with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate salary and benefits processing.
* Monitor staff training, CPD, and performance appraisals, supporting career development initiatives.
* Stay updated with DBS and safeguarding regulations, ensuring all staff have appropriate background checks.
* Assist in the development of HR policies, aligning them with school governance and statutory requirements.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in an HR role, preferably within a school or education setting.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law, safeguarding, and safer recruitment practices.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels.
* Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information professionally.
* Proficiency in HR systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office, and payroll processing tools.
* CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification (or working towards) would be desirable.
