A bit about the role As therapeutic residential worker you'll be responsible for creating a safe and supported living environment for the children and young people in our care. This role involves providing emotional and psychological support, helping children develop coping strategies, and promoting positive behaviours. You will engage in daily activities with the children, facilitating their social skills and emotional growth through a structured programme and therapeutic interventions. Your work will be crucial in helping children build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. About the service Our service offers a warm and welcoming homely environment, supporting 3-4 children in a family style setting. We specialise in helping children 7-18 years who have experienced complex trauma. Our spacious and homely atmosphere allows every child to feel like they are part of the family. Children can enjoy watching TV, playing DVDs and using games consoles, creating opportunities for relaxation and socialising with friends. We focus on providing a supportive space where children can engage in their passions and build meaningful connections. How you'll help to create brighter futures Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
