The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Transport Team Leader to join this charity that improves transport provision for people in the local community who have limited mobility! This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position where you will be responsible for overseeing transport services and improving accessibility for individuals. This includes managing daily fleet operations, scheduling trips, and ensuring that vehicles are compliant with regulations.
Working Monday to Friday, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference within the community.
Your day-to-day duties include:
* Coordinate daily transport schedules and manage bookings
* Maintain accurate records of users and journeys
* Handle customer inquiries and promote the transport scheme
* Ensure vehicles are compliant and well-maintained
* Serve as the point of contact for drivers regarding vehicle issues
* Prepare reports for management on fleet performance
* Support volunteer driver recruitment and training
* Assist with community outreach and marketing efforts
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies

What We’re Looking For:
They are seeking a highly organized individual with experience in project management and senior administrative roles. The ability to carry out basic vehicle safety checks and routine maintenance is essential. Additionally, experience driving minibuses (up to 16 seaters) with the ability to undertake physical tasks, including removing heavy seats from minibuses, is required. A full UK driving license with D1 entitlement and proficiency in IT, including MS Office and databases, is also necessary. A background in community transport or the voluntary sector is desirable.
