Job Description
Catering Operations Supervisor
* To ensure each OCSA has the correct tools to be able to carry out their duties safely, effectively and in compliance with all relevant processes and food safety / alcohol licensing laws.
* To maintain an audit log of all equipment, absence and lateness, holiday, staff performance, uniform, and food/hygiene standards
* To assist the Catering Manager with all aspects of performance management
* To provide a ‘world class’ standard of customer service at all times.
* To assist the Master / Mate / DCSA in any emergency situations and take part in monthly drills to ensure preparedness for such events.
* Deputise in the absence of managers and fulfil OCSA shifts as and when required.
* To support a team of OCSA in serving food and beverages to customers following prescribed methods of portioning, presentation, and combinations in line with our brand standards and answer questions about products.
* To follow food hygiene / safety procedures in line with health and safety requirements.
* To ensure sales of alcohol are completed responsibly and in line with licencing requirements.
* To ensure all customers are greeted on board with a friendly welcome and their requirements for food and drink are explored.
* To ensure all sales are processed through the EPOS system, payment is taken/recorded in full and that all elements of the Payment Procedure are always adhered to.
* Manage a team of up to 15 OCSA to deliver department targets.
* Oversee that the cleaning programme is followed and that all vessels are kept to a high standard of cleanliness at all times during service.
* To train new team members in all procedures and aspects of their role.
* Take appropriate action to remedy any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock requirements, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during the course of work.
* Previous, relevant working experience within a Customer / Food Service or Retail environment
* A natural leader with experience to inspire operational teams to deliver results.
* Be committed and flexible in your approach to work and able to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise work.
* Have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and to establish good professional relationships with colleagues.
* Food hygiene certificate – Level 2
* Knowledge of the Thames and surrounding areas / attractions
Where: You’ll be based between our Dry Dock facilities at Tilbury and our offices at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London E14 0JY.
