My Client is a Mechanical and Electrical Contractor based in Warwick who has been established since 1971, working on multimillion-pound contracts in the West Midlands for Main Contractors.
The candidate will be managing designed and D&B projects of approx. £5M across all sectors including:
1. Commercial: Offices and warehouses
2. Residential: Mostly apartments (including student accommodation)
3. Health: Hospitals and medical centres
4. Education: Schools and universities
5. Leisure: Sports centres, cinemas, and theatres

Responsibilities
1. Handover of project from estimating and familiarization of all details of the project design, drawings, and specifications to enable full understanding of the project.
2. Attend pre-start meetings with the main contractor.
3. Develop programme with key dates, issue any technical submittals through to approval and any RFIs as required for the project.
4. Procure labour and subcontractor packages and materials with cost savings and to meet programme delivery requirements. Populate procurement schedule.
5. Maintain commercial responsibility with value engineering, working alongside QS on variations and ensure the project is managed to a profitable return.
6. Project planning and managing progress with the site manager, leading the team ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications and to high standards, following programme ensuring labour levels are met and materials are on site.
7. Work closely with the electrical counterpart to ensure continuity and specification is met.
8. Populate quality reports and documentation required by the main contractor working with H&S manager as required.
9. Progress meetings with client and subcontractors to monitor performance and quality. Maintain progress reports.
10. Plan and monitor commissioning stages with the site manager and subcontractors.
11. Ensure defects are kept to a minimum.
12. Formulation of O&M manual information working with internal admin and external O&M document builder.
13. Delivery of the whole project to handover and final account stage.
Experience
1. Demonstrable record of managing multi-million-pound design and build projects with another contractor at a similar level for at least five years.
2. Good all-round mechanical knowledge with relevant qualifications.
3. Effective planning and project management skills.
4. Be commercially astute with a good understanding of buying and making money on projects.
5. Client-focused and professional. You will be confident with good communication skills, used to sitting in meetings and dealing with contractors and clients.
6. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads.
7. Good people management and ability to motivate, lead and maintain relationships.
8. Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
9. Excellent written and verbal skills and knowledge of business systems such as 4Projects and Fieldview (training available).
Package
Reporting to the Mechanical Director and Managing Director, we offer:
