Senior Social Worker - The Integrated Learning Disability Service
Salary: Band: 10: £41,510 - £45,718 per annum
37 hours per week
The Service
The Integrated Learning Disability Service currently supports over 900 adults with a learning disability in the Portsmouth area. It offers specialist services to enable and support them to participate in daily activities and increase or maintain levels of independence. The ILDS is multi-disciplinary, person-centred service that uses a named worker approach to maximise the potential of service users and get the best outcomes for them and their families.
What is the role
You will be part of an experienced team, with regular supervision, access to internal training, peer support and regular team meetings. Your role will be varied, working with service users, families and carers that you will establish and maintain positive professional relationships with. You will be supporting people to get the best care that they can to live their lives to the full. What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will need to hold a professional qualification and current registration in social work and have a relevant legal, theoretical and practice knowledge base. Applicants will need to have a good knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Making Safeguarding Personal.
With robust and comprehensive skills in risk management, the ability to negotiate, work creatively and flexible with an aptitude for innovative decision making, you will be passionate about putting the customer at the heart of what you do. You will be effective at managing and organising your own workload whilst working in a busy office environment whilst responding to competing demands and changing priorities.
