The Finance Delivery group provides back office financial services for Sky, through Global Finance Operations (GFO) and Global Process Ownership (GPO). The Data & Reporting team is the latest addition to the GPO and will oversee Sky’s finance data landscape, making sure Sky is ready for a data driven future and putting trusted financial data at the core of business decision making. They will also create a range of reporting that meets the requirements of a modern finance function, delivering the right information to the right people at the right time, generating key insights and moving the business forward. The Data Lead role is essential for this mission, both in terms of documenting and understanding Sky’s current finance data landscape, and also in maintaining control and integrity of Sky’s financial data in the future. What you’ll do: Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the design, deployment, and operation of comprehensive data governance models encompassing all of Sky’s finance master data, in close collaboration with the Head of Finance Data & Reporting. Quality Assurance and Control: Develop and sustain robust processes for enhancing, monitoring, and managing the quality of finance master data. Work proactively with business units to elevate data quality standards and bridge any existing gaps. Stakeholder Engagement: Articulate the critical importance of high-quality finance data to internal teams and stakeholders throughout the Finance organization, ensuring alignment and commitment to data governance principles. Standardization and Risk Management: Champion data standards within Sky Finance alongside the Head of Finance Data & Reporting. Illuminate the risks and challenges associated with subpar data quality, driving organizational change and adherence to best practices. Data Asset Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of data assets for Sky, including the establishment of a comprehensive Data Dictionary, understanding Data Lineage, and advancing towards standardized Data Structures across Sky and Comcast. Project Leadership: Lead strategic projects aimed at enhancing data quality and aligning data structures across Sky and Comcast, ensuring consistent, accurate, and reliable financial data across the organization. What you’ll bring: Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading data initiatives in large, complex organizations. Core finance knowledge, preferably ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong understanding of finance data structures, data quality frameworks, and data governance principles. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels. Proven ability to manage and execute large-scale projects, delivering tangible improvements in data quality and governance. Familiarity with data management tools and technologies, and a deep understanding of data lineage and data dictionary concepts. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, driving towards common goals and objectives.
