What you will do in your working day
Your duties include:
* Comply with health and safety regulations and support activities to improve safer working.
* Complete check sheets while monitoring machines and equipment data.
* Identify and solve issues in the manufacturing environment within their responsibility, escalating them when necessary.
* Adhere and develop Standard operation Procedures (SOPs).
* Work with your team and communicate to ensure continuous improvement.
* Resolve machine stoppages.
* Achieve OEE and waste targets.
* Set the machine to production recipes.
* Preparing raw materials for production.
* Replenishing packaging and films to the production line during the shift including the stacking of trays.
* Set up batches of production as per the production plan.
* Manual handling including the stacking of finished goods.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the role as required.
The training you will be getting
This Apprenticeship Standard is delivered within the workplace, where the Apprentice will complete a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative competency and knowledge qualification. IPS will support and train the learner through the component aims with monthly monitoring and assessment visits to the workplace. This will prepare the learner for End Point Assessment that is required for this Apprenticeship.
To complete this Apprenticeship, the learner must pass Level 1 English and maths (or have the appropriate transferable skills). They must also at least take the test for Level 2.

This qualification could lead to job roles relating to:
* Manufacturing operations.
* Material transfer operation.
* Process and assembly operations.
* Inspection and testing.
This qualification also provides progression onto other Level 3 and Level 4 manufacturing qualifications.
