Our purpose at Team NP is simple: to keep people safe and to fight crime. But it takes more than officers alone to do the job – and that’s where our 2,000-strong team of police staff and 200 volunteers come in. As one of the largest police forces in England we have a huge variety of departments and specialisms offering you endless opportunities. From mentoring and coaching schemes and online soft skills courses to leadership development programmes; we’ll give you the support, training and time to carve out the career you always wanted. As one of the top 50 UK inclusive employers and a disability confident employer, we promote a culture of respect in the workplace so everyone can feel seen, heard and valued. Whether you’re a member of staff or a volunteer, you can also expect first-rate support to manage your health and wellbeing.
The role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Intelligence Officer to join our Financial Investigation Unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality financial research to support the force’s strategic and operational priorities. This role involves the collation, dissemination, and development of research related to investigations conducted under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
What you’ll do
1. Conduct specialist financial research to support civil and criminal investigations.
2. Triage and research arrests/charges to identify asset recovery opportunities, managing low-value asset recovery cases through the court system.
3. Review and triage financial intelligence, presenting information using diverse data sources to identify links and associations.
4. Provide operational support to the Financial Investigation Unit and wider police force, including tracing individuals reported missing and wanted for investigation.
5. Develop intelligence packages for investigations and liaise with external agencies.
6. Conduct live-time research to support ongoing operations and contribute to briefings and meetings.
7. Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information gathered from other forces and agencies.
8. Utilise the Altia Financial Investigation Toolkit (FIT) for banking material analysis.
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit.
