Do you have a passion for working with complex automated equipment? If so, our RME (Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering) Mechatronics Apprenticeship could be the perfect opportunity for you. Key job responsibilities As an RME Mechatronics Apprentice, you will develop a diverse skillset spanning electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines. Your responsibilities will include: • Installation, testing and commissioning of new automated equipment • Fault finding, troubleshooting and rectification of issues • Planned and preventative maintenance activities • Modifications and upgrades to existing equipment This is a hands-on role that requires you to apply your knowledge and skills across multiple engineering disciplines. You will work alongside experienced technicians to develop expertise in areas like: • Electrical, electronic and control systems • Mechanical engineering principles • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Safe working practices and maintenance procedures Throughout the apprenticeship program, you will work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance), gaining both practical, on-the-job experience and earning industry-recognized qualifications. Year 1 is full-time residential (classroom) training at one of our training provider facilities. As a result, you may be required to work away from home Monday to Friday each week during term time (costs will be supported by Amazon), combined with short periods working at one of our operations warehouses. Subsequent years will comprise day or block release training at a specialist college where you will study for an HNC in Engineering/Mechatronics, and on-the-job training in a Fulfilment/Sortation Centre or Delivery Station among our team of technicians and engineers. What qualifications will I gain? Over the course of the apprenticeship you can expect to achieve the following qualifications: • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) for apprentices in England and Wales • Performing Engineering Operations (SCQF level 5) in Scotland • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in England and Wales • NC/HNC in Mechatronics in Scotland • HNC in either Mechatronics or Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical engineering in England and Wales • Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard (England and Wales) • Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering (Scotland) On completion of the apprenticeship, graduates will have the necessary qualifications to obtain Eng. Tech status with the IET. To be successful in this role, you should have a genuine passion for engineering and technology, good problem-solving abilities, and the motivation to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
