The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven and detail-focused Test Analyst. In this pivotal role, you’ll be integral to ensuring the precision and reliability of our financial systems, carrying out comprehensive testing processes. If you have experience in automation testing, that’s a huge advantage, as it will fuel our quest for enhanced efficiency and scalability in QA operations. You’ll have the chance to significantly impact the quality assurance of our systems, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out detailed analysis of technical, functional, non-functional requirements and specifications.
* Identify and highlight gaps or issues in requirements or user stories.
* Review the impact assessments of systems changes and provide appropriate test estimates.
* Actively participate in project risk and requirement workshops.
* Develop and produce test specifications for testing phases throughout the testing lifecycle.
* Smoke test environments to ensure that end to end functions perform correctly.
* Execute test cases/procedures, record results and perform detailed initial root cause investigation where expected results are not produced. Work with team members to resolve issues.
* Accurately record, assign and follow up defects in appropriate defect tracking tools and take ownership until resolution.
* Produce test completion/summary reports providing constructive feedback as to suitability of software for implementation. Update senior test analyst/project manager with status of testing/issues on a regular basis (both informal communication and written reports).
* Contribute in defining the test policies and test strategy.
* Contribute to the continual improvement of test processes and template documentation.
* Provide support and guidance to business users in relation to testing and related issues.
* Advice and guide colleagues and business users on testing issues.
* Provide technical expertise of testing best practice throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to the development of the practice.
* A strong understanding of software testing techniques and processes including both waterfall and agile methods.
* Working closely with stakeholders.
* Manage and report on the testing lifecycle to manage test results, defects and overall impact.
* Develop a working knowledge and level of expertise to support the projects you are working on.
Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours
* Sound relevant QA experience, ideally working within a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of Financial concepts and experience working on Financial applications is essential. Experience working on Workday Finance modules would be advantageous.
* Experience in Agile development life cycle would be advantageous but not mandatory.
* Experience of functional testing, Data testing and Test automation.
* ISTQB Foundation or relevant working experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Dynamic and engaging with real passion for quality and testing.
* Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to take a pragmatic approach to testing.
* Excellent team player and ability to be flexible in the face of changing requirements.
* Ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders.
* Able to see the bigger picture and adopt a risk-based approach to testing.
