South Somerset Community Nursing Team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Team Leader for a 12-month secondment, to manage a team of Band 5s, 4s, and 3s working alongside another experienced Band 6 Team Leader.
You will be responsible for taking on a clinical caseload of complex patients.
Main duties of the job
The Band 6 role in District Nursing involves a ratio of 20% management and 80% clinical. The Band 6 does take a case load. They are also responsible for supervisions and career conversations while managing the team and helping to run the hub. They are expected to work shift patterns between 8 am and 10 pm. While being clinical, they are responsible for complex patient care and supporting the team of staff. It can be a challenging role but also is very rewarding. You will work alongside another Band 6, and between you, share duties required to support and manage the Band 5s, Band 4s, and Band 3s. You are overseen by a senior District Nurse Manager. We are part of a neighbourhood and work closely with Community Nursing Teams across South Somerset. We care for housebound patients within Yeovil, Wincanton, and surrounding villages.
