Job Summary:
The Head of Recruitment is responsible for leading the internal recruitment function and developing recruitment strategies that align with RA Group’s growth objectives. This role involves managing a team of two Recruitment Partners, optimising and streamlining the recruitment process and establishing a commercial charging model in the function, and implementing innovative talent acquisition practices that drive excitement and brand awareness and increase candidate attraction. The ideal candidate will evidence capability in headhunting and recruiting at a senior level, experience of recruiting at scale, strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of recruitment best practices, and experience in building and maintaining a high-performing recruitment team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
* Develop and implement a new recruitment strategy, including a managed charging model in collaboration with Head of People and Culture and MDs to attract and retain top talent across Restaurant Associates Group.
* Collaborate with business leads to understand current and future workforce needs and create tailored recruitment plans.
* Analyse market trends and provide insights to adapt hiring strategies accordingly.
* Complete competitor analysis to create market maps for key senior roles, building talent pools.
* Work with Reward and Benefit to benchmark salaries and benefits packages for senior roles on a quarterly basis to ensure we are competitive in the market.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two Recruitment Partners.
* Establish performance metrics, SLAs and KPIs for the recruitment team to ensure efficient and effective hiring and their performance against these.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, market awareness and professional development within the recruitment team.
* Ensure the team understand the most effective and best practice ways to use the systems and tools they work with, including training by Tribepad, Indeed, Caterer and LinkedIn as appropriate.
Recruitment Process:
* Adopt the art of the possible approach to attracting key senior hires through a suite of attraction strategies from thought leadership, networking and coffee chats through to the development of a clearly mapped structured interview and assessment process.
* Review and oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a smooth and positive candidate experience for successful and unsuccessful candidates that is cohesive across all brands. Where there are service failings, complete a review and ensure remedies are in place to prevent a recurrence.
* Implement best practices to streamline hiring processes, reduce time-to-fill, improve quality of hires and reduce leavers in first 6 months.
* Monitor and manage recruitment costs, implementing a recharge model, optimising the use of recruitment tools, job boards, and limiting agency usage.
Stakeholder Management:
* Act as a trusted advisor and partner to senior leadership team and hiring managers on recruitment strategies, role specifications and workforce planning.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align recruitment activities with business objectives.
* Provide regular updates and reports on recruitment metrics and hiring progress to senior leadership team.
* Develop a thorough knowledge of the market and who key talent is with our competitors at key levels in the organisation through attendance at networking events, industry roundtables and forums and other events as appropriate.
* Work with Central L&D and Sector People team as necessary to develop and deliver a portfolio of Recruitment training for managers on candidate selection, reasonable adjustments, interview skills, unconscious bias and other core training.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI):
* Develop and implement initiatives to enhance diversity and inclusiveness in the recruitment process, including the use of specialist job boards and promoting use of Social Referral Hub for frontline roles.
Employer Branding:
* Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team and Head of People and Culture to help grow and strengthen the company’s employer brand and attract top talent through campaigns, adverts, events and other attraction strategies.
* Drive and oversee RA Group’s online presence on job boards, social media, and recruitment platforms with support from the Marketing Team.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Utilise available data and metrics to track recruitment activity and make data-driven decisions.
* Create and present weekly and monthly recruitment performance reports to Head of People, Culinary Director and MDs.
Qualifications:
* Minimum three years previous experience in a senior talent acquisition role with a focus on headhunting, talent attraction and senior hiring.
* Proven track record of leading recruitment teams to improve KPI, creating a recruitment best practice model and delivering on hiring goals.
* Experience of implementing and managing a charging mechanism for services.
* Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, sourcing strategies, and candidate assessment techniques.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficient in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
* Experience in building employer branding and candidate attraction initiatives.
* CIPD Level 5 or 7 would be an advantage.
* Experience of recruiting within Catering is preferred.
