Senior Social Worker - CAAS (Contact Advice & Assessment Service)
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the CAAS (MASH) Team to work Full Time based in Berkshire.
The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £45,441 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage an allocated caseload appropriate to the extensive experience of the Senior Social Worker, including complex assessments of children, families, and parenting to meet statutory requirements.
2. Work within West Berkshire policies, procedures, and good practice guidelines to meet the needs of the allocated children and families.
3. Work with children and young people, families, carers, and communities to help make informed decisions, engender change, enabling them to clarify and express their needs, and contribute to service planning.
4. Maintain up-to-date case notes and other records, write reports (including court reports), and give evidence in court.
5. Undertake specialist assessments for your and other workers' cases for court proceedings, including parenting and kinship assessments.
6. Ensure that casework is up to date, comprehensively written, and managed within agreed timescales.
7. Keep up to date with contemporary issues in children's social work, including legislation and evidence-based practice, and use this to inform working practice.
8. Liaise with colleagues in own and other directorates and external agencies to gather information to inform assessment and care planning activities, jointly plan and deliver interventions.
9. Participate in planning/reviewing the cases of children in care, child protection, and support fostering/adoption arrangements.
10. Provide constructive challenge to enhance practice, procedures, and policies, promote innovation, and introduce new ways of working.
11. Provide leadership and professional wisdom to colleagues and other professionals for work in situations of high complexity.
12. Model and facilitate reflective and evidence-informed practice, contributing to the development of knowledge and promotion of excellence in the field.
13. Carry out any other duties, commensurate with the post, as may be required for the efficient running of the service.
Requirements:
1. A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
3. Registered or eligible for registration.
4. Flexible working wherever possible between the hours of 07.00-19.00.
5. Hybrid working wherever possible, working 40% in the office.
